About you (please use English):
Founder Member of Notus: Applied Social Research. She holds an MA in Sociology (University Pompeu Fabra at Barcelona). Over the last 20 years, she has been Director of Research at both CIREM Foundation and Notus. She has extensive expertise on gender in higher education, research and innovation. She was co-director of the study ‘Women in Industrial Research (WIR)’ commissioned by the Directorate-General of Research of the European Commission (2002-2003) and has participated in several EU-funded research projects on gender and science issues. She was co-director of the study ‘Monitoring progress towards gender equality in the 6th Framework Programme – Lot II’, commissioned by the Directorate General of Research of the European Commission (2005-2007); Scientific coordinator of the FP6 project ‘Women-Core: Women in Construction Research’ (2006-2008); Director of the study ‘The gender bias in the educational system. Its repercussion in mathematics and technology in secondary education (THEANO)’, for the Spanish RTD National Plan (2007- 2009); Director of the study ‘Meta-analysis of gender and science research ‘, (2008-2010) commissioned by the European Commission in the framework of the FP7; Coordinator of the FP7 project ‘SHEMERA’ (2011- 2014) (As CIREM until March 2013; as ULB in-house consultant from April 2013 onwards). She participated in the FP7 project GenPORT (2013-2017) which developed an online community of practitioners, served by an internet portal and made up of organisations and individuals working across the globe for gender equality and excellence in science, technology or innovation. Amongst other projects she is currently participating in twho H2020 projects: TARGET (2017-2021)– providing support for implementing institutions to effect institutional transformation for enhancing gender equality and ACT (2018-2021) - developing the conceptual framework and providing assistance to the development of the selected Communities of Practice.
