Very relevant tools are the database of experts, that allows sharing contacts and the e-discussions in which encounters are generated and future collaborations are given on different themes related to gender and science.”

Cecilia Castaño Collado is Professor of Applied Economics and co-director of the Master on Gender Equality at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Visiting Research Fellow at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard University and University of California at Berkeley. Creator and Director (2006-2012) of the Gender and ICT research program of the Internet Interdisciplinary Institute (IN3) of the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. Gender Expert in the areas of information technologies (ICT) and science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). She has participated in advisory groups on these topics either to the Spanish Government and the European Commission. Her current research projects are on gender equality in higher education.
