Strengthening the role of women scientists in Nano-Science

WomenInNano is a 30 months project involving 11 women scientists from 9 European countries (Germany, Romania, Sweden, Spain, Slovenia, UK, Bulgaria, Italy, France). It represents a pilot initiative of networking high-level female scientists experienced i n Nano-Science who will act as "Ambassadors for Women and Science". The aims of the project are: a) to encourage young women to consider studies and pursue careers in this new scientific field (providing "role models"), b) to attract youth to "NANO", c) to network and empower women scientists working in Nano-Science at national, regional and European level, d) to stimulate female scientists to participate in EU programmes, e) to mobilize stakeholders in favour of gender equality in scientific research, f) to stimulate the science-society dialog.
