Il Centro Studi e Ricerche Donne e Differenze di Genere nasce nel 1995 all'interno della Facoltà di Scienze Politiche ed è uno dei primi centri universitari in Italia a promuovere iniziative di ricerca, percorsi didattici, attività di formazione e di disseminazione nell'ambito dei cosiddetti 'Gender Studies'.

Nel 2007, a seguito di un processo di riorganizzazione ed allargamento, il Centro diventa una struttura Interdipartimentale con un'esplicita vocazione multidisciplinare.

Attualmente diretto dalla Prof.ssa Luisa Leonini, presieduto dalla Prof.ssa Bianca Beccalli e coordinato dalla Dott.ssa Daniela Falcinelli, il Centro è ospitato dal Dipartimento di Scienze Politiche e Sociali dell'Università degli Studi di Milano e articola le proprie attività all'interno di cinque Sezioni tematiche:

Tali attività includono convegni, seminari e altre iniziative pubbliche; lezioni e corsi all'interno di diversi corsi di laurea dell'Ateno, servizi di consulenza e informazione, partecipazione a progetti nazionali ed europei.

The Centre for Study and Research 'Women and Gender Differences', created in 1995 within the Faculty of Political Sciences, is one of the first centres promoting research, teaching, training and dissemination activities in the field of Gender Studies. In 2007, following a process of re-organisation and enlargement, the Centre becomes an Interdepartmental Centre with the aim of developing and fostering a Â multidisciplinary approach to Gender Studies. Currently run by Prof. Luisa Leonini, chaired by Prof. Bianca Beccalli and coordinated by Dott. Daniela Falcinelli, the Centre is hosted by the Department of Political and Social Sciences of the University of Milan and organised aroundÂ five main Research Sections: Women and Science; Work and Equal Opportunities; Women in Politics and Decision-Making Processes; gender, generations and social policies; human rights and women's rights. The activities carried on within the Sections include: organisation of conferences, seminars and other dissemination events; participation to national and European projects, courses within different Bachelor's Degrees offered by the University; information and consultancy services.
