About you (please use English):
Lena Dominelli has been involved in raising issues about gender in many aspects of life for a number of years. She has been concerned with the invisibility of women's work, the segregation of the labour marker, and the lack of women's voices in key decision-making bodies. She has written and researched on these subjects, including Women and Community Action (2nd Edition); Feminist Social Work Theory and Practice; Affirming Women; and Feminist Social Work (with E McLeod). Her current research and practice interests include addressing women's specific needs before, during and after disasters ranging from poverty (hu-man-made) to volcanoes (natural), and climate change (both natural and hu-man-made).

I have been working on gender issues since the 1980s, changing legislation, policy and practice for women offenders, women users of social services, mothers, fathers, masculinity, women in disasters. I have published in these areas, and also undertaken research into each of these. My research has included a variety of funders ranging from voluntary sector agencies to research councils.
