Athena SWAN Officer at Heriot-Watt University in Scotland. Since 2000, supporting delivery of scientific research as an operations leader and strategic projects manager.
My work entails Athena SWAN planning and delivery.This includes developing and sharing expertise in the various interventions that can improve our institutions practice in appointment, promotion, career breaks, flexible working, support for early career researchers and development of a supportive culture e.g. via transparent workload models, embedding equality into procurement etc. I am also interested in promoting the embedding of the gender dimension into research design.
