International Congress of Women Mathematicians 2014

The International Congress of Women Mathematicians 2014 (ICWM 2014) is an associated meeting of the 27th *International Congress of Mathematicians 2014 (ICM 2014) which will be held from August 13-21, 2014 in Seoul, Korea. The purpose of the ICWM 2014 is to bring together women mathematicians and supporters of women in mathematical sciences from around the world to showcase the mathematical contributions of women, to exchange ideas about supporting and encouraging active careers for women in the mathematical sciences, and to provide opportunity for mathematicians to meet and talk with women in the mathematical sciences from around the world. 

The ICWM 2014 meeting in Seoul will consist of two days of activities. The first day of activities are scheduled from 8 am to 5 pm on August 12th at Ewha Womans University, which is about an hour away by car or subway from the COEX convention center where the ICM 2014 will be held.  The second day of activities are scheduled from 1 pm to 9 pm on August 14th at the COEX convention center. On the first day, five colloquium style talks will be given by leading women mathematicians from around the world invited at the recommendation of 16 international members of the ICWM 2014 Program Committee organized by the International Mathematical Union. In addition, there will be a poster session highlighting the latest research of selected attendees of the meeting and a panel discussion session, ICWM-Forum, highlighting important issues surrounding women mathematicians. For the second day of activities at the COEX convention center, two more colloquium style invited talks, KWMS and IMU special program sessions, and ICWM banquet are planned. The banquet is scheduled from 7 pm to 9 pm immediately following the ICM organized 2014 Emmy Noether Lecture.
