Description of the event (english translation)

The aim of WoCaNet is to increase the awareness of young female scientists of their own potentials and opportunities by providing an interactive environment and networking possibilities.
WoCaNet 2016 is a symposium organized by PhD students and PostDocs at the University of Göttingen and the four Max Planck Institutes within Göttingen, and is aimed at female PhD students and PostDocs.

Our main goal is to have strong, successful women tell their career story and encourage young scientists. WoCaNet intends to be a platform for an exchange of experiences and to discuss potential obstacles that need to be overcome to achieve one's goals.

The program will include several talks on experiences of female scientists, workshops, discussions and career support for women. In line with previous WoCaNet symposia, we hope to create a relaxed environment in which young female scientists get a chance to meet women with successful careers in academia, industry, publishing and politics.Due to its international character, the symposium will be held in English.
