              Donna Ginther talks about the importance of math education and intervention strategies for girls to help further close gaps in STEM fields. The intervention strategy is the main policy recommendation from a study Ginther and others conducted on the gender gap in academic sciences since 2000, which has improved greatly in some academic areas.
Ginther is a University of Kansas professor of economics and director of KU's Center for Science, Technology & Economic Policy at the Institute for Policy & Social Research.
