Das Margherita-von-Brentano-Zentrum für Geschlechterforschung ist eine interdisziplinär und international ausgerichtete Zentraleinrichtung der Freien Universität Berlin.
Das Zentrum widmet sich – seiner Namensgeberin Margherita von Brentano verpflichtet – der Initiierung und Unterstützung von (internationalen) Kooperationsprojekten in Forschung und Lehre, in denen das inter- und transdisziplinäre, wissenschaftskritische und selbstreflexive Potential der Geschlechterforschung genutzt und weiterentwickelt wird.

As of the beginning of 2016, the newly founded Margherita von Brentano Center has taken over the duties of both the Center for the Promotion of Women’s and Gender Studies and the Interdisciplinary Center for Gender Studies.
In the spirit of its namesake Margherita von Brentano, the center will be dedicated with renewed vigor to initiating and supporting (international) collaborative projects in research and teaching that harness and advance Gender Studies’ interdisciplinary, trans-disciplinary, intellectually critical, and self-reflective potential.
