senior researcher at GESIS – Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences and holds a PhD in Comparative Cultural Studies. Anke joined GESIS’ Center of Excellence Women in Science CEWS in 2006. Her research focuses on gender equality in higher education and research: steering instruments, policy impact assessments, evaluation of gender policies and their implementation. 2013, she chaired an EC- Expert Group to prepare an ex-ante impact assessment on European gender equality policy in public research and carried out an EU-wide survey study on the implementation of gender equality policies. Anke developed evaluation concepts to assess impacts and implementation of gender action plans of a “structural change” project (INTEGER), has long-time experience with evaluations and in analyzing policy-making frameworks. She is partner in two FP7 projects which focus on gender and science, INTEGER and GenPORT, and has managed two FP6 projects in the same field (European Platform of Women Scientists, Encouragement to Advance). Anke is an expert advisor to the ERA-Net “GENDER-NET”. She worked at the equal opportunities office of Cologne University and was seconded to the European Commission Directorate General for Research and Innovation as national expert.
