Carl Jacobsson is a senior advisor at the Swedish Research Council. He works with gender equality questions and gender equality monitoring as well as with other analyses of research financing, research personnel and research output (e.g. bibliometric analyses). He was head the department of Research Policy Analysis at the Swedish Research Council 2001-2014. He was a member of the EU Expert Group on Gender and Excellence leading to the EU report The Gender Challenge in Research Funding 2009 and of the EU Expert Group on Women in Science Decision Making leading to the report Mapping the maze 2008. Earlier, he was Ombudsman at the Swedish Association of University Teachers and Special Adviser at the Swedish Ministry of Science and Education. His background is in mathematics; he was Associate professor at Stockholm University 1983-1995.
