Director of the Gender, Society and Policies Department at the Latin American Postgraduate Institute of Social Sciences (FLACSO)
Coordinator of the UNESCO Regional Chair on Women, Science and Technology in Latin America; the E-learning Master's Program on Gender, Society and Public Policies (PRIGEPP); the Global Network of UNESCO Chairs on Gender and the LAC focal point of GenderInSITE, a multistakeholder global initiative.
She has developed a large number of research and educational projects and programs in Latin-America and internationally on gender issues and/in STEM, education, communication and youth.
She has acted as advisor for many government, academic, and international institutions such as: Minister of Science and Technology, Argentina; Government of Medellin and of Bogota, Colombia; Ministry of Education of Dominican Republic; DAW-United Nations; Women and Development Unit-ECLAC; Monterrey Institute of Technology; OAS; IDRC/CRDI; UNICEF; UNWOMEN; UNDP and UNESCO.
She was distinguished by UNESCO as one of the 60 women worldwide who has helped accomplish the organization’s goals throughout the 60 years of its existence, representing the voices, aspirations, and visions of many women around the world.
In 2015 was elected member of the ITU/UNESCO Broadband Commission for Sustainable Development.
