About you (please use English):
I obtained a PhD in Biology in 1994. I have an extensive experience in biomedical research gained in different European countries (UK, Sweden, Germany, and Spain). In 2000, I started a new path in my career taking responsibilities related to science management in several research centres
Since June 2002, I work at the Spanish National Centre for Cardiovascular Research (CNIC), as Science Management Director.
Main tasks:
• Coordination and management of the Centre’s Training Programmes: 15 programmes covering all levels from senior high school students to postdoctoral researchers and other professionals.
• Coordination of activities for researchers’ career development: evaluation, selection, training and promotion.
• Establishment of national and international strategic alliances (research and training agreements, Centre’s representative in meetings, etc.).
• Management and supervision of biomedical research projects funded by the CNIC.
• Organization of scientific dissemination activities: Centre’s seminar series, international conferences, training workshops, etc.
• Preparation of scientific dissemination material: annual scientific report, leaflets, webpage, etc.
• Support and advice to the Managing Director in scientific-related activities.
• CNIC’s Management Board Member.
Related to gender issues, I am a member of the recently established Equality-Gender Committee at the CNIC and associated to the Spanish Association of Women in Science and Technology (AMIT, Asociación de Mujeres Investigadoras y Tecnólogas).
