I hold a PhD in Biochemistry, in Plant Phisiology, with expertise on membrane bound Proton-pump Pyrophosphatases which play a central role in the metabolism of photosynthetic organisms, specially under stress conditions. They add metabolic flexibility to these organisms in times of need since they share localization with V-ATPases, but use a cheaper metabolic currency (PPi).

I am also interested in Nutrition and I am currently studying how the Microbiome may play a role in different pathologies (gut-brain axis).
