#HITproject EU conference - Youth acta against hate

Submitted by gigi guizzo on Wed, 12/09/2020 - 10:52

Hate interrupter teams act in Europe.

Please join us online on the 10th December, from 14:30 to 16:30 (Central European Time; check local times for variance) and find out more about the work of the Hate Interrupter Teams (HIT) partnership.

During these two hours, we are sharing the lessons we have learned over the last two years building our 'HIT' concept of counteracting hate speech and behaviour towards migrants through creative campaigning.

More than 240 youngsters aged 14 to 19 across Europe, guided initially by enthusiastic teams of facilitators, mentors and professionals, have led creative actions to raise awareness and become empowered to take direct responsibility and action and in tackling discrimination, every time it is encountered.

On the day, we explore how HIT offers a model for empowerment and capacity building across Europe, as a contemporary and powerful set of examples as to how to engage and empower young people to contribute to building fairer, safer and more equal environments in schools, on streets, in social interaction and online.

In a different world, we would have wanted to meet all interested young people, organisations and experts in person. Covid-19 has made that impossible - but instead we invite you online to our showcase of audio-visuals, photos, testimonies videos and voices Please join us - we look forward to meeting you and hearing your impressions, questions and suggestions!
