Inaugurado en el año 2003 por el rector Juan Vázquez, el Centro de Investigaciones Feministas (CIFEM) es un espacio de encuentro feminista e interdisciplinar que acoge diversos seminarios (Seminario de Estudios de la Mujer, Grupo Deméter y Seminario Permanente Mujer y Literatura) y grupos de investigación de profesoras de diferentes especialidades de la Universidad de Oviedo (Filología Inglesa, Filología Española, Historia, Sociología, etc.). Es, asimismo, la sede del Programa Oficial de Postgrado Género y Diversidad.

CIFEM is a feminist, interdisciplinary space which comprises a variety of faculty members and research groups of the University of Oviedo. It is the home of the MA Programme in Gender and Diversity, the Erasmus Mundus Master's Degree in Women's and Gender Studies (GEMMA) and the PhD in Gender and Diversity.
