Die Gewerkschaft Erziehung und Wissenschaft - Gesamtverband der Lehrerinnen und Lehrer, Erzieherinnen und Erzieher (GEW) ist eine Gewerkschaft im Deutschen Gewerkschaftsbund (DGB) mit Sitz in Frankfurt am Main und einem „Parlamentarischen Verbindungsbüro“ in Berlin. Die GEW ist Mitglied der Bildungsinternationale. Die GEW ist die größte Bildungsgewerkschaft Deutschlands; Ende 2013 gehörten ihr über 270.073 Mitglieder an. Die Mitglieder arbeiten in pädagogischen und wissenschaftlichen Berufen an Schulen unterschiedlicher Schulart, in Kindertagesstätten und Jugendheimen, an Hochschulen, wissenschaftlichen Instituten und Forschungseinrichtungen, an Volkshochschulen und anderen Einrichtungen der Weiterbildung sowie an Goethe-Instituten.

The GEW is a member of "Education International" (Bildungsinternationale). The GEW is the largest education union of Germany; at the end of 2013 belonged to her over 270,073 members.
