About you (please use English):
I am Professor Emeritus of Sociology and Social Policy at the University of Limerick and Visiting Professor, Geary Institute, University College Dublin Ireland. My research interests currently revolve around gender and higher education: with a particular focus on leadership and management, excellence, organizational culture, masculinities/femininities in STEM, micropolitics, interventions and sponsorship. My roughly 120 publications include seven books and over 80 peer reviewed refereed journal articles.
I was the first woman to be appointed at full professorial level in the University of Limerick in 1997; the first woman Faculty Dean there in 2000 and the first woman Professor of Sociology in Ireland. I have been involved in a number of international research consortia including FESTA, an EU funded project (2012-17) and WHEM.
I am currently on the Advisory Boards of three research projects i.e. TARGET, CHANGE and NORDICORE. I have given numerous presentations nationally and internationally and held visiting professorships at the universities of London; Aveiro; Linkoping; Deakin and Melbourne.
I was editor of a Special Issue of Education Sciences on Gender and Leadership (2018) and am currently editing (with Kate White) a book for Palgrave and co- editing a Special Issue for Irish Educational Studies with Judith Harford and Tanya Fitzgerald.
