UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) commissioned Advance HE to review the equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) challenges in the research and innovation (R&I) sector. This review examines the international context (a concurrent review examines the UK context) and sits within a wider context of understanding the evidence base of EDI interventions and activities and identifying further areas for research.
This expertise examines the regulation of prostitution in Belgium. While the Belgian national law prohibits all third party activities concerning prostitution, e. g. renting out rooms or running a brothel, the regulation at the local level is characterized by a broad variety of different rules. This expertise explains the contradictions between national law and local regulation as well as the differences observed between the different local policy approaches. The expertise forms part of the Observatory’s comprehensive research on the regulation of prostitution.
This expertise focuses on the comparison of the different policy approaches towards prostitution adopted in European states. The first part of the expertise offers an overview of the different policy approaches and classifies European states into four different models. The findings are presented in form of a map. The second part informs about current reform efforts and other developments in selected states. The main characteristics are summarized and presented in form of country boxes.The expertise aims contribute to the objectification of the discussion on different policy approaches in Europe.
