I'm a portuguese medical doctor. PhD in Clinical Research from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Aggregation in Inclusive Clinical Research. Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences of the University of the Algarve. Director of the PhD Program in Clinical Research and Translational Medicine at the University of the Algarve. President of the Ethics Committee of the Algarve Biomedical Center. Author of the book Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation in Clinical Practice, included in the National Reading Plan since 2018. Principal Investigator of the LGBTQIA+ Health and Medical Education Research Group, winner of the European Union's IMPETUS Accelerator Program, with the project Equity in health for LGBTQIA+ people, in June 2023. She is the author of several articles and research projects in the area of equity in health for LGBTQIA+ people, discrimination and authenticity in higher education institutions and forms of sensitization and training on issues of gender equality, gender identity and sexual orientation.

Professora Associada da Faculdade de Medicina e Ciências Biomédicas da Universidade do Algarve. Diretora do Programa Doutoral em Investigação Clínica e Medicina Translacional da Universidade do Algarve. Presidente da Comissão de Ética do Centro Biomédico do Algarve. Autora do livro Identidade de Género e Orientação Sexual na Prática Clínica, incluído no Plano Nacional de Leitura desde 2018. Investigadora Principal do Grupo de Investigação em Saúde e Educação Médica LGBTQIA+, vencedor do Programa IMPETUS Accelerator da União Europeia, com o projeto Equidade em saúde para pessoas LGBTQIA+, em junho de 2023. Sou autora de vários artigos e projetos de investigação na área da equidade em saúde para pessoas LGBTQIA+, discriminação e autenticidade nas instituições de ensino superior e formas de sensibilização e formação em questões de igualdade de género, identidade de género e orientação sexual.

In the last serveral year I performed clinical and socioepidemiological research focus on gender identity, sexual orientation, equity and inclusion. I also implemented several classes and workshops ate the university regarding these issues. I' m the author of the book Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation in Clinical Practice, included in the National Reading Plan since 2018.
