The ACT project places a particular emphasis on adopting a co-design practice in its resource development, and especially visual aids, since non-verbal communication is a bridge between varied professional and cultural contexts. Apart from incorporating visual methods and templates within the above participatory methods, ACT also provides guidelines to creating visual materials. National funding agencies are often the main source of resources for researchers in Europe, especially the public ones. Since most European funding agencies incorporate gender equality at the programmatic level in their core documents, the gender perspective should considered in all their activities. The present Briefing Paper focuses on the role of Research Funding Organizations with the aim to inspire these key actors of the European R&I system to innovate policy design and implementation for gender equality.
